Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used systems of healing in the world.  It is simple, safe, and sustainable.  Acupuncture works.

Traditional Chinese Medicine holds that there are as many as 2,000 acupuncture points on the human body, which are connected by 20 pathways called meridians.  Each acupuncture point has various functions.  The acupuncturist decides which of these acupuncture points to use depending on the individual patient's signs and symptoms.  Extremely thin, sterile, disposable needles are placed in the chosen points to help the body rebalance and heal itself.  The patient lies quietly, relaxes and often sleeps while the needles are in from anywhere between 20 minutes to a couple of hours.  The needles are then removed and disposed of in a biohazard sharps container to never be used again.  Research in the United States (as well as thousands of years of tradition in Asia) has shown that acupuncture is most effective when it is done frequently and regularly - once a week is usually the minimum required to make progress on any kind of health problem.  This is one of the main reasons why our sliding scale is $15-$35, so that people can get the treatment they need to get better and stay better.
